Tony D’Amico will be the new AS Roma director, as agreed weeks ago, and his arrival will immediately accelerate work on two major priorities for the Giallorossi.

With D’Amico stepping into the role, Roma are now pushing ahead on new deals for Paulo Dybala and Gianluca Mancini, two of the most influential figures in the squad and central pillars of the club’s recent progress.

Softfootball understands that Gianluca Mancini joined AS Roma from Atalanta on 17 July 2019, initially on loan before the move became permanent for €13 million. Exactly three years later, Paulo Dybala arrived on 20 July 2022, completing a highly anticipated free transfer after leaving Juventus.

Both players quickly established themselves as indispensable, Mancini anchoring the defence with leadership and consistency, and Dybala providing creativity, goals and big‑game influence. Together, they have formed a strong defensive and attacking spine that has driven Roma’s deep runs in European competitions in recent seasons.
