The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to take on Russia in an international friendly match in 2025.
Softfootball reported that the proposed friendly is being arranged by FIFA match agent Jairo Pachon, with discussions already ongoing between representatives and the Russia Football Federation.

The date and venue for the game have not yet been confirmed, as final details are still being worked out by the organisers.
Pachon reportedly said his representatives are cooperating with the Russia Football Federation to organise the friendly between both countries.
The Super Eagles are expected to be involved in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers during the international windows in 2025, so the friendly could likely be scheduled towards the end of the year.
If the match goes ahead, it will be the first senior-level meeting between Nigeria and Russia.
The fixture would give the Super Eagles another opportunity to test themselves against European opposition as they continue preparations for major international competitions.
For Nigeria, the match could also serve as a useful test for the coaching crew to assess players, build team chemistry, and prepare for future competitive fixtures.
