Nigeria’s Flamingos extended their perfect run at the WAFU‑B U‑17 Girls Cup with a determined 2–0 victory over Burkina Faso at the Lycée Scientifique, Yamoussoukro.
The Flamingos controlled much of the first half, dictating tempo, applying pressure and creating openings, but Burkina Faso defended bravely to keep the scoreline level. Despite Nigeria’s dominance, the decisive breakthrough proved elusive.
Their persistence finally paid off in the 82nd minute. Mary Dunstan latched onto a well‑timed through ball, steadied herself inside the box and finished confidently beyond the goalkeeper to give Nigeria a deserved lead.
Burkina Faso attempted to respond, but Nigeria remained composed and in control. Deep into stoppage time, the Flamingos sealed the win.
Kemi Adegbuyi was played through on goal, showed excellent composure, rounded the goalkeeper and calmly slotted into an empty net to make it 2–0.

The result means Nigeria have now won all three of their matches, maintaining a 100% record as they continue their pursuit of another successful tournament campaign.
