Liverpool manager Arne Slot has warned his players that they must find a way to deal with Brentford’s aggressive high-pressing style when the two teams meet in the Premier League on Saturday. The Reds are aiming to maintain their strong position at the top of the table with another difficult test away from home.

Liverpool have enjoyed an outstanding campaign, losing only two of their 31 matches in all competitions. Softfootball reports that the league leaders are currently four points ahead of second-placed Arsenal with a game in hand, but Slot knows Brentford will provide a stern challenge.

Slot highlighted Brentford’s ability to press man-to-man and switch between different tactical approaches depending on the situation. He also warned that Thomas Frank’s side can cause problems in several ways, including scoring early in matches.

Some teams you play, they have one or two big strengths. Brentford press high, man v man, low block if needed, can score goals in all different ways,

Slot said.

The Liverpool boss also praised Brentford’s tactical flexibility and the stability provided by their long-serving manager, noting that the team can operate with either a back four or back five.
