Scotland will be chasing a historic result when they face Brazil in their final Group C match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The Scots head into the decisive encounter needing a strong performance after following their opening 1-0 victory over Haiti with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Morocco.

Brazil, meanwhile, responded impressively after drawing 1-1 with Morocco in their tournament opener. The five-time world champions produced a dominant display to defeat Haiti 3-0, with Matheus Cunha scoring twice and Vinicius Junior also finding the net.

The upcoming clash rekindles a World Cup rivalry that dates back to 1998, when Brazil defeated Scotland 2-1 on their way to reaching the final.

Team News

Scotland trio Scott McKenna (calf), Aaron Hickey (unspecified) and Lewis Ferguson (fatigue) were all absent from training over the weekend, but they could all be back in contention to feature in some capacity against Brazil, the latter of whom is likely to continue in centre-midfield.

As for Brazil, Barcelona winger Raphinha has been ruled out with a hamstring injury sustained in the first half of the win over Haiti. Bournemouth’s 19-year-old starlet Rayan is the most likely candidate to take his place on the right flank.

Match Predictions

Softfootball predicts Scotland 0-3 Brazil

Even without the injured Raphinha, Brazil’s vast attacking depth should still have too much firepower for a gritty but vulnerable Scottish backline, as the Selecao look to march into the knockout rounds with maximum momentum.
