Carlo Ancelotti will remain as Brazil head coach after reaching an agreement with the Brazilian Football Confederation to continue leading the Seleção despite their disappointing exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Both Ancelotti and the federation have agreed to honour the existing contract, with the Italian set to oversee Brazil’s rebuilding process ahead of the next World Cup cycle and the upcoming Copa América.
Softfootball understands The decision comes just days after Brazil were eliminated from the World Cup following a 2-1 defeat to Norway in the quarter-finals.

Erling Haaland proved the difference for the Scandinavian side, scoring twice in the closing stages after Andreas Schjelderup provided both assists. The Manchester City striker’s brace took his tournament tally to seven goals and ended Brazil’s hopes of lifting a sixth World Cup title.
Despite the setback, the Brazilian federation has reaffirmed its confidence in Ancelotti, believing he is the right man to guide the national team into a new era.
