Rodri Reaffirms Commitment To Manchester City Amid Real Madrid Links

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid, insisting he remains fully committed to the Premier League champions.

The newly crowned Ballon d’Or winner has recently been the subject of transfer rumours suggesting Real Madrid are interested in bringing him back to Spain.

Softfootball understands that despite the growing speculation, the Spanish international has made it clear that he is happy at Manchester City and has no immediate plans to leave the Etihad Stadium.

Rodri admitted that while he still has a strong affection for Spanish football, he has settled comfortably into life in England since joining City.

The 28-year-old revealed that he quickly fell in love with English football after making the move to the Premier League and remains delighted with his career in Manchester.

He also pointed out that he is under contract with Manchester City, where he has established himself as one of the world’s best midfielders.

Although Rodri acknowledged that he hopes to return to Spain one day because it is his homeland, he stressed that his current focus remains on continuing his success with City.

The midfielder has enjoyed a remarkable year, winning the 2024 Ballon d’Or after playing a pivotal role in Manchester City’s domestic success and helping Spain lift the UEFA European Championship.
