Softfootball can confirm that RB Leipzig and Diego Moreira have reached a verbal agreement over an immediate move, with the 22-year-old winger set to sign a contract until June 2031.

Moreira has emerged as Leipzig’s top priority to replace Yan Diomande, with the Bundesliga club keen to secure the promising left winger as part of their attacking plans.

However, negotiations between Leipzig and Strasbourg have not yet become active. The two clubs are in contact, but Strasbourg are demanding a fee in the region of €60-70 million for Moreira.

Leipzig are currently unwilling to meet that valuation, meaning the German club must find a solution with Strasbourg before the transfer can progress.

The development comes after Leipzig completed the signing of Fisnik Asllani from Hoffenheim in a deal worth €30 million earlier this month.

The 23-year-old striker is set to undergo his medical before being officially unveiled, having agreed a contract with Leipzig until June 2031.

Asllani’s arrival ended speculation over his future after he attracted interest from several European clubs, including Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.
