Nkunku’s preference has been crucial in the negotiations. The forward wanted to return to Leipzig after assessing the proposals available to him, and an agreement has now been reached in principle.

The move would see Nkunku return to the club where he enjoyed some of the best football of his career, with Leipzig now closing in on an agreement to reunite with the Frenchman.
