Barcelona winger Raphinha has revealed that his decision to remain at the club was driven by a desire to prove his critics wrong.
The Brazil international has enjoyed a superb start to the season, registering 10 goals and nine assists in just 14 appearances across all competitions.
Despite his impressive form, Raphinha admitted he seriously considered leaving Barcelona during the summer after reports suggested the club was open to selling him.
The 27-year-old explained that hearing constant transfer speculation was difficult to ignore, especially after the Copa América, as it made him feel like he was being treated as a commodity rather than a person.

The winger stressed that throughout his career he has always wanted to play where he feels valued and appreciated, adding that the challenging period has only strengthened his resolve to take his performances to an even higher level.
Raphinha’s decision has paid off, with the Brazilian emerging as one of Barcelona’s standout performers this season under Hansi Flick, playing a key role in the club’s strong domestic and European campaign.
