FIFA has officially announced Rabat as the host city for the 77th FIFA Congress, marking a significant shift as the event heads to North Africa.
The announcement was shared via FIFA’s official X account, accompanied by an image of a modern venue displaying the FIFA logo and the message “See you soon!”, signaling anticipation for the upcoming gathering of global football leaders.
Softfooball believes Morocco’s selection reflects its growing influence in world football, further strengthened by its role as a co-host of the FIFA World Cup 2030 alongside Spain and Portugal. The decision highlights FIFA’s continued effort to expand its global footprint and engage new regions in major football events.
FIFA posted:
Introducing the host of the 77th FIFA Congress: Rabat, Morocco. See you soon!

The announcement follows the ongoing 76th FIFA Congress currently being held in Vancouver, where global attention has been focused on preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
As part of activities surrounding the Congress, FIFA also launched its “Be Active” campaign in Vancouver, bringing together over 40 children from the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. The initiative promotes youth engagement and healthy lifestyles through football while highlighting cultural inclusion.

With Rabat set to host the next Congress, Morocco continues to strengthen its position as a key hub in global football development and international events.
