Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has insisted his side has a genuine chance of beating Manchester City in their upcoming Premier League clash.

Despite City’s struggles this season, which have seen them exit multiple competitions, Postecoglou remains respectful of Pep Guardiola’s team. Softfootball notes that the Australian coach views the match as a significant test for his squad’s attacking philosophy.

Speaking to the club’s website, Postecoglou praised City’s enduring quality. He said:

You’re always looking forward to the challenge. Manchester City are an outstanding football club, a great manager, still got great footballers and still play really challenging football to any opponent.

The Spurs boss highlighted the entertaining nature of recent encounters between the two sides. He added:

We’ve enjoyed our games against them, whether that was this year or last year. They’re going to try and win, they’re going to try and play expansively and we are going to try and do the same. It’s going to be a good test for us.

Tottenham have already defeated City twice this campaign, along with three wins over Manchester United. A victory on Wednesday would make them the first team to beat both Manchester giants three times in a single season, cementing their reputation as giant-killers under Postecoglou’s leadership.
