Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye delivered another solid performance as Udinese secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Cagliari in Friday’s Serie A clash.
The Nigerian shot-stopper was instrumental in helping Udinese record consecutive home clean sheets in the Italian top flight. Softfootball noted that the victory also saw the Friulians bounce back strongly from their narrow 1-0 defeat away to AC Milan in their previous league outing.

Udinese were handed a major advantage midway through the first half when Cagliari were reduced to 10 men following a red card in the 30th minute.
The hosts capitalised on their numerical superiority eight minutes later as Lorenzo Lucca broke the deadlock with a well-taken finish.
Keinan Davis then wrapped up the victory in the 78th minute, scoring Udinese’s second goal to ensure all three points stayed at the Bluenergy Stadium.
The result temporarily lifts Udinese to fourth place in the Serie A standings with 16 points from nine matches, continuing their impressive start to the campaign.
Friday’s encounter also marked Okoye’s ninth league appearance of the season, with the 25-year-old continuing to establish himself as one of Udinese’s most reliable performers between the posts.
