Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle has firmly ruled out Lewis Hall leaving the club for Manchester United this summer.
Asked about the possibility of Hall joining the Red Devils, Jaissle was unequivocal:
No chance, no chance.
The statement reinforces Newcastle’s long-standing position that the England international is not for sale this summer.
Softfootball reported earlier in August that Newcastle had informed Hall and his representatives that the club had no intention of allowing the 21-year-old to leave.
Manchester United had been stepping up their pursuit of the left-back and were preparing an opening official proposal, having monitored Hall for several weeks.
United view Hall as a potential long-term successor to Luke Shaw, but Newcastle consider him a key part of Jaissle’s plans and are determined to keep him at St James’ Park.
With the manager now publicly dismissing the possibility of a transfer, Hall’s move to Manchester United appears firmly off the table.
