Manchester City finished their 2026 pre-season Asia Tour with an impressive 3-1 victory over Atletico Madrid at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, Softfootball reports.
New manager Enzo Maresca’s side dominated possession for long periods and produced an entertaining performance, although they went into the break behind after Jorge Domínguez gave Atletico the lead shortly before half-time.
City had been the better side for much of the opening period but were punished after failing to properly clear a corner. Domínguez reacted quickest to prod the ball home and give the Spanish side an unexpected advantage.
The setback did little to derail City’s momentum after the restart. Omar Marmoush turned the game around with two goals in as many minutes, with Antoine Semenyo providing the assists for both strikes. The Egyptian forward’s brace capped an excellent individual display and earned him a team-high rating of 9/10.
Rayan Ait-Nouri then completed the comeback late in the contest, adding a third goal to secure a convincing victory for City.
The result provides City with positive momentum heading into their next competitive fixture, with attention now turning to the Community Shield against Arsenal next Sunday before the start of the 2026/27 Premier League campaign.
