Internal reports within softfootball indicates that Michael Carrick and Manchester United are set to continue together next season and beyond.

This is after Carrick, who was appointed as a caretaker manager temporarily for Manchester United on 13 January 2026 after Rúben Amorim was sacked by Manchester United on the morning of 5 January 2026.

Carrick has qualified United for the UEFA Champions League, which is a very important milestone, overtaking the likes of Chelsea FC, Aston Villa FC, and Liverpool FC while consolidating 3rd position for the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Reports also suggested that everyone at Manchester United feels happy and wants him to stay, including the United players, management, and fans of the club.
