Liverpool wrap up their pre-season tour of the United States with a meeting against Leeds United in Chicago, hoping to maintain their perfect start under new manager Andoni Iraola.
The Reds have recorded victories over Sunderland and Wrexham during the tour, with Rio Ngumoha’s deflected strike sealing a hard-fought 1-0 success in New York after an entertaining 4-2 win against Sunderland. Iraola has praised his side’s growing tactical cohesion and will now look for another encouraging display before Liverpool return to Anfield for friendlies against Monaco and Como.

Leeds head into the contest with renewed confidence after edging Sunderland 1-0 thanks to Lukas Nmecha’s fortunate winner. Daniel Farke’s side had previously suffered a narrow defeat to Wrexham but remain optimistic ahead of the new Premier League season, with further friendlies against RB Leipzig, Manchester United and Augsburg still to come.
The two clubs played out two draws in the Premier League last season, suggesting another closely contested affair could be on the cards despite the friendly setting.
