Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has revealed that he is developing a special connection with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.
The Polish forward, speaking to Pilka Nozna, praised the youngster’s remarkable maturity and ability to perform at a level far beyond his age.
Lewandowski recalled being surprised when he first discovered Yamal’s age during training, saying he could hardly believe the winger was only 15 at the time.
There is a special, invisible connection between the players. I am starting to feel something like that with him,
Lewandowski said.
The veteran striker also admitted that Yamal’s talent is not the only thing that has impressed him. He believes the youngster possesses the maturity and football intelligence of a player several years older.
Yamal has quickly established himself as one of Barcelona’s most exciting young players, becoming an important part of the club’s attacking setup despite his age.
