Former Barcelona striker Thierry Henry believes Kylian Mbappe must raise his performances despite making a promising start to life at Real Madrid, Softfootball said.

The France captain has registered eight goals and two assists in 13 competitive appearances since joining the Spanish giants, but Henry believes there is still plenty of room for improvement.

Speaking to CBS Sports, Henry explained that scoring goals alone is not enough when playing for a club of Real Madrid’s stature, insisting Mbappe must adapt better to the demands of leading the attack.

According to Henry, Mbappe is yet to reach the level he consistently displayed during his time at Paris Saint-Germain.

He admitted that the 25-year-old is still learning to play as a central striker, a role that presents different challenges from his preferred position on the left wing.

Henry added that while adapting to a new club usually takes time, Real Madrid is not a place where players are often afforded much patience because of the enormous expectations that come with wearing the famous white shirt.

The former Arsenal forward stressed that Mbappe must quickly improve his overall performances if he wants to meet the high standards expected at the Santiago Bernabeu.
