Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has responded to criticism of his technical and tactical approach following Nigeria’s 3–2 defeat to Malawi, speaking firmly ahead of the team’s crucial clash against Zambia.
During the team’s pre‑match press conference, Softfootball gathered that Madugu questioned why his abilities were being doubted only after a single defeat, stressing that he has led the Super Falcons to several victories in the past without receiving such criticism.

They are questioning my technical and tactical ability because we lost a game. But was the Malawi game the first match I have handled with the Super Falcons?
It was not the first game. I have handled several other matches that we won, and nobody questioned that.
In addition, Madugu stressed that past results will have no bearing on Nigeria’s approach when they face Zambia. He acknowledged Zambia’s confidence but made it clear the Super Falcons are fully prepared and are coming out to get the result we want.”
