Hansi Flick is set to sign a new contract at Barcelona, with a deal structured as two years plus an additional one-year option, keeping him at the club until 2029.
This development follows earlier reports that Flick would extend his contract if Joan Laporta won the Barcelona presidency, which has now become a reality.

Softfootball believes that once this contract is finalized, Barcelona must back Flick financially in the transfer market. The team needs reinforcements, especially in attack. Ferran Torres is not a natural striker, and although there are internal reports linking the club with Julián Álvarez, financial constraints remain a major issue.

If Marcus Rashford returns to Manchester United, Barcelona will also need to sign another winger. Lamine Yamal has been impressive on the right wing, but currently lacks a proper backup option in case of injury.
While Barcelona’s midfield is functional, improvements are needed in both defence and attack, even after winning LaLiga back-to-back.
