Brentford manager Thomas Frank has admitted that his side face a difficult challenge when they welcome Premier League leaders Liverpool in Saturday’s league clash. The Bees will be looking to build on their impressive 2-2 draw against Manchester City earlier in the week.
Frank believes Brentford can compete with Liverpool if they show the same courage and intensity they displayed against City.
Softfootball reports that the Brentford boss has called on his players to remain brave in possession and when pressing their opponents.
I think it was a good indicator for how even a match it was,
Frank said, reflecting on the draw against Manchester City.
Of course we will try to do the same against Liverpool. It will be difficult. I think for me and for us the performance was so good in terms of the way we want to do it.
He added:
We were brave playing out but also brave in high pressure, brave in a lot of other phases, and I think we need to be brave again on Saturday.
