Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has vowed that the club will give everything in their bid to win the FIFA Club World Cup.

City enter the tournament determined to finish the campaign with a major trophy after failing to enjoy the same level of domestic success they have achieved in previous seasons.

Softfootball understands that Foden believes the competition provides the team with an important opportunity to end the campaign on a positive note. The expanded tournament will bring together leading clubs from different continents, creating a unique challenge for Pep Guardiola’s squad.

City have considerable experience of competing at the highest level and will be among the teams expected to challenge for the trophy. Their squad contains several world-class players, while Guardiola’s tactical experience could also prove important during the tournament.

For Foden, the competition represents another opportunity to win silverware with the club. The England international has developed into an important player for City and will be expected to contribute in attack.

The midfielder’s determination reflects the mood within the squad, with City keen to respond after a campaign that did not meet their usual standards.

Winning the Club World Cup would provide a significant boost and give the players a strong platform heading into the next season.

City will therefore approach the competition wit
