FIFA announced:

The 2026 edition, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will be the largest World Cup in history, featuring more teams, more matches, and wider global representation than any previous edition.
The development follows recent comments from Gianni Infantino, who praised the newly opened International Broadcast Centre in Dallas as one of the most technologically advanced football media hubs ever created.

FIFA had also recently unveiled the official June–July 2026 tournament calendar, outlining major competition milestones including the opening ceremony, group-stage schedule, knockout rounds, and the final scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium.
