Sporting Lagos head coach Jeffrey Buter (often called Jeff Buter) has used his official X handle to reflect on his remarkable rise in Nigerian football, describing how he went from a young NPFL fan to a ball boy and now a top‑flight manager.
In his post, Buter shared how his earliest football memories shaped his journey, recalling days spent watching Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matches with his mother and later serving as a ball boy for Lobi Stars, his boyhood club.

As a kid I used to be part of that crowd watching a NPFL game with my mum in the stands, later went on to be a ball boy for my boyhood club Lobi Stars.
To go from that kid to becoming a Head Coach in the NPFL is a moment I’ll cherish forever. Thankful.”
Jeffrey joined Sporting Lagos in 2023 as an academy assistant coach, helping the youth side win the 2024 Gothia Puma Trophy. He later stepped up to the senior team and successfully guided Sporting Lagos back to the NPFL, marking a significant milestone in his coaching career.
