Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke is confident Sevilla have what it takes to upset Barcelona when both sides clash in Sunday’s LaLiga encounter, despite the club’s poor record against the Catalan giants.

Sevilla have not defeated Barcelona away from home in the league for the past 14 years, but the Andalusian club will head into the fixture determined to end that long wait. Softfootball gathered that Ejuke believes Sevilla possess enough quality to challenge one of Spain’s biggest clubs.

The Nigerian international, who joined Sevilla this season, insisted that while Barcelona boast world-class players, his side also has the talent and determination needed to compete at the highest level.

Ejuke expressed confidence in Sevilla’s chances during an interview with El Chiringuito TV, maintaining that the team will approach the match with belief despite the daunting challenge.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a promising start to life in Spain, scoring once in eight LaLiga appearances for the Rojiblancos while gradually establishing himself as an important member of the squad.

Sevilla will also draw confidence from their recent league form, having gone unbeaten in their last three matches heading into the high-profile clash.

A positive result against Barcelona would represent a significant boost for Sevilla’s campaign and further underline the progress the team has made in recent weeks.

Softfootball gathered that Ejuke is expected to play a key role for Sevilla as they seek to produce one of the biggest surprises of the LaLiga weekend by ending their lengthy winless run against Barcelona.
