Kylian Mbappé has praised Real Madrid teammate Yan Diomande, insisting the highly-rated youngster has already demonstrated the quality required to succeed at the Spanish giants despite the huge transfer fee attached to his arrival.
Fede Valverde also recently praised Diomande following Real Madrid’s dramatic victory over Elche, highlighting the Ivorian winger’s ability in one-on-one situations. The Uruguay international said he and his teammates trust Diomande, while also pointing to the youngster’s decisive assist for Mbappé during the victory.

Softfootball reports that Diomande joined Real Madrid from RB Leipzig in a record-breaking deal that could reach €140 million, making the 19-year-old one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history. Despite the pressure surrounding his price tag, Diomande has begun to show his potential after earning more playing time and contributing an assist against Elche.
Mbappé believes the attention surrounding the transfer fee should not place unnecessary pressure on the youngster. The French forward stressed that Diomande is still at an early stage of his development but has already shown enough quality to justify the confidence placed in him.
The Real Madrid captain also emphasised the importance of protecting young players as they adapt to the demands of playing for a club filled with established stars. With the season still long, Mbappé believes Madrid will need contributions from the entire squad rather than relying only on their regular starting XI.
Diomande’s progress will therefore remain closely watched, but the support from senior figures such as Mbappé and Valverde provides a strong indication of the confidence within the dressing room. The Ivorian will now hope to build on his recent performances and establish himself as an important part of José Mourinho’s Real Madrid squad.
