Everton captain Seamus Coleman has admitted his disappointment at the postponement of the clubβs Merseyside derby against Liverpool, which was called off due to Storm Darragh last weekend.
The postponement means the final-ever derby to be played at Goodison Park will now take place sometime in 2025, denying supporters the historic occasion they had been building up to.
Softfootball has learned that Coleman spoke about the disruption in an interview with the clubβs official website. He said:
It was disappointing. We donβt know how the result would have went, but the little things like Liverpool dropping points midweek, us getting that win that we needed, kind of changed the tone going into the game a little bit.
Coleman added that the squadβs focus has already shifted toward their next fixture. He continued:
We were all looking forward to it and we were ready for it, the last Goodison derby. Disappointing, it happens. Weβve got to move onto Arsenal now.
