Chelsea have officially sacked head coach Liam Rosenior with immediate effect, bringing an abrupt end to his tenure after just four months in charge, Softfootball confirms.
The decision, confirmed by Fabrizio Romano on his x handle, follows a disastrous run of form that saw the Blues suffer five consecutive defeats without scoring a single goal a collapse that ultimately forced the club’s hierarchy to act.

Romano posted:
BREAKING: Chelsea have decided to SACK Liam Rosenior with immediate effect. It’s OVER after 4 months, and 5 consecutive defeats with 0 goals scored.
Chelsea had already held emergency internal meetings to assess Rosenior’s future, with pressure reaching breaking point after a humiliating 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium. That result not only extended their losing streak in the Premier League but also saw Brighton leapfrog them in the table.
Rosenior had earlier described his team’s performances as “unacceptable” and “indefensible,” highlighting the growing crisis within the squad.

His departure now leaves Chelsea searching for yet another managerial solution, with the club at a critical point in their season.
Attention immediately turns to who will take over, as the Blues aim to steady the ship and salvage what remains of their campaign.
