Following Bruno Fernandes equalling the Premier League single-season assist record during Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest, both Fernandes and Casemiro have reacted to the emotional encounter at Old Trafford.
Softfootball understands that the victory secured a third-place league finish for Manchester United and further strengthened the positive momentum under interim manager Michael Carrick.
Speaking after the match, as shared on the club’s YouTube channel, Fernandes admitted United performed well overall despite moments where concentration dropped during the game. The Portuguese midfielder explained that the team lacked aggression on the ball during parts of the first half but improved significantly after the break.

Fernandes praised the team’s second-half display, highlighting the stronger intensity and control that helped Manchester United secure another important result in front of their home supporters:
We played really well, we lacked a little bit of focus on one moment where they end up scoring one goal, then the other one on a counter where I think it was a fall in the beginning on me but I think overall in the first half we were not aggressive enough without the ball but the second half we were a little bit better and with the ball we were also much aggressive in the second half to get into possessions and to score goals.
His latest assist also saw him match the Premier League single-season assist record, further underlining his importance to the club this campaign.
