Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen believes his side deserved more from their Premier League clash against Liverpool despite suffering a 2-0 defeat at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
Liverpool secured all three points thanks to two goals from Mohamed Salah, with the Egyptian forward converting a penalty before producing a moment of individual brilliance to complete his brace.
Despite the defeat, Huijsen was encouraged by Bournemouth’s performance and believes the team can continue to produce positive results if they maintain their current level.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the defender felt Bournemouth were unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet.
I think we had a good game and we were unlucky with some moments and if we were just a bit more lucky today, then it would go from 1-0 to 1-1 and maybe the game would change
But we need to take the positives.
Bournemouth have impressed with their performances in recent weeks, and Huijsen believes their results will improve if they continue playing with the same intensity and confidence.
I’m sure that if we carry on playing like this, the results will come and they are coming recently, so we need to continue like this.
The defeat was a setback for Bournemouth, but Huijsen remains confident that the team can build on their performance and return to winning ways in their upcoming fixtures.
