Arne Slot has confirmed he has every reason to believe he will manage Liverpool next season. Softfootball gathered from Liverpool internal sources that there were plans to replace him with Xabi Alonso, who Chelsea are also said to be interested in.
In Arne Slot’s statement, he confirmed that plans for next season have already been made, and talks are ongoing between the club and new players, citing that he is actively involved in the process.
This 2025/26 season has not been so rosy for Liverpool, as they were leapfrogged by Manchester United, who have qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the 2026/27 season.
Liverpool are still battling to consolidate 4th position, however they are fortunate that five teams will qualify for the Champions League next season. Therefore, even if they do not finish 4th, they could still finish 5th and secure qualification.
