Softfootball understands that Casemiro has been in remarkable form for Manchester United despite recently announcing his intention to leave the club at the end of the season.
The Brazilian midfielder has shown his class on the pitch, recently earning a Man of the Match award in Manchester United’s 3-2 victory against Fulham and proving he remains a key figure under Michael Carrick’s guidance.

Given Casemiro’s recent resurgence, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has publicly urged the club to reconsider their plans and offer the midfielder a new contract extension.
Ferdinand believes United risks losing a vital player who continues to deliver at the highest level, and replacing him would come at a significant cost both financially and on the field. Speaking on a recent episode of the Rio Meet Podcast, posted via their official X account.

He said:
Casemiro, the game left him. He was meant to leave the game before it left him. Listen, where is he going? He needs to sign a new deal. We need to get on to him now, Casemiro. Get him another contract and say, you know what, give us another year. Because we’re going to have to go out and replace that. And the way he’s performing at the moment, we have to spend a lot of money to go out and replace Casemiro the way he’s performing under Michael Carrick. And the reports are that that’s an area they’re going look into in the summer. So I hope they do that. And they’re diligent in their research and recruitment. That’s another podcast where we’re talking about who’s going to replace Casimiro in the market.
Ferdinand’s words underline both the urgency and importance of retaining Casemiro, who continues to provide stability, leadership, and elite-level performances in midfield.
