Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai is enjoying a standout season and he’s making history with his dead-ball brilliance.
Liverpool’s official X account celebrated Szoboszlai’s stunning 30 yard free kick against Manchester City, confirming it was his fourth direct free-kick goal of the 2025/26 season across all competitions.

That feat makes him the first Liverpool player to score four free-kicks in a single campaign since Luis Suárez in 2012/13 elite company.
Speaking to Softfootball , Szoboszlai also showed respect to Liverpool’s title rivals Arsenal.

he said.
But he was quick to add a champion’s edge, reminding everyone that Liverpool are “playing against the champions,” and that the Premier League race isn’t decided in January.
Away from the pitch, Szoboszlai addressed talk around his future at Anfield.
“I love it here at Liverpool, I love the fans, I’m happy here… but from now on it is not in my hands,”
he admitted. While there has been “no progression” yet in contract talks, Softfootball report that Liverpool are preparing a major new offer to secure his long-term future amid interest from Real Madrid.
On the field, his numbers back up the hype. Under Arne Slot, Szoboszlai has been one of Liverpool’s most versatile performers, even filling in at right-back when needed. As of February 9, 2026, he has 8 goals and 6 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions, alongside elite pass completion and four stunning free kick goals.
