Eric Chelle has struck a calm but determined note ahead of Nigeria’s blockbuster AFCON 2025 semi-final clash against hosts Morocco, insisting that unity and resilience will be key as the Super Eagles edge closer to continental glory, Softfootball reports.
The semi-final encounter against Morocco is widely seen as Nigeria’s toughest hurdle yet, with the Atlas Lions enjoying home support and strong form throughout the tournament. However, the Super Eagles arrive with confidence of their own after navigating difficult fixtures and showing tactical discipline under Chelle.

Speaking to the press via the Super Eagles’ official X handle, Chelle acknowledged the scale of the challenge awaiting his side, stressing that no match at this stage of the tournament comes easy.
Algeria was a big test, Morocco will be a bigger test. Every game is a big test. We work as a family. We suffer together and win together,Chelle said.

The Franco-Malian coach recently marked just over a year in charge of Nigeria and his record so far underlines the progress made. Chelle has overseen 11 wins, five draws and just one defeat in 17 matches, a run that has restored belief and stability within the national team setup.
Nigeria will also be driven by recent history. The Super Eagles reached the final of the last AFCON edition, only to fall short against hosts Ivory Coast. With another host nation standing in their way, Chelle’s side will be hoping this time to go one step further and book a place in back-to-back AFCON finals.
As anticipation builds ahead of tomorrow’s semi-final, Chelle’s message is clear: collective effort, mental strength and togetherness will define Nigeria’s approach as they aim to silence the home crowd and keep their AFCON dream alive.
