The return of Mohamed Salah to Liverpool team was the highlight of Match-Day 16 in the premier league as the Reds beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield, Softfootball reports.

Liverpool had draw 3-3 against Leeds United last weekend with the manager Arne Slot leaving Salah on the bench for 90 minutes. The Egyptian wasn’t happy about it and went too the press to air his views. It caused some rancor and Salah was dropped for the Champions League 1-0 win over Inter Milan.

A lot of people wondered if Salah would be allowed back into the team before he jets off to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON). Guess everyone had their answers today in clear terms and he looked like the Salah of old.

Liverpool excitedly shared the result of the match with their fans via their official X handle.

Before the encounter, Arne Slot claimed he wasn’t enjoying the Salah saga and proved that he was ready to move on by playing the Egyptian in Anfield against Brighton and he didn’t disappoint.

Liverpool beat Inter Milan 1-0 in midweek in a difficult UEFA Champions League Match-day 6 fixture and came into the premier league fixture with same hunger and drive.

Yankuba Minteh made a mess of his clearance, Joe Gomez won the header and it drops perfectly for Hugo Ekitike and the Frenchman hits his shot on the turn and it flies past Bart Verbruggen in goal for Brighton.

Interestingly, a massive cheer from the Anfield faithful erupted when Mohamed Salah came on for the injured defender Joe Gomez in the first half. As Dominik Szoboszlai moved to right-back, with Salah right wing.

The first half finished 1-0 and in the second half, the brilliant Mohamed Salah created the second goal for Ekitike and he finished with aplomb to make it 2-0.

Liverpool now move into sixth on the table, courtesy of the 2-0 victory over Brighton. They now have 26 points after 16 matches in the premier league this season so far.
