Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler has claimed that his side deserved the result they got against West Ham United in the Match-Day 15 of the premier league, Softfootball reports.

The Seagulls drew 1-1 against West Ham courtesy a late goal by Georginio Rutter. It was the striker’s first goal of the season that canceled out Jarrod Bowen’s opener for West Ham United.

Speaking after the match in an interview shared via Brighton’s official X handle, manager Fabian Hürzeler wasn’t happy about the first half performance of his boys and hopes for improvement in subsequent matches. He said:

We wanted more definitely but in the end we didn’t deserve more because we didn’t play with energy and intensity in the first-half. We deserved to concede a goal and we reacted well. In the end we have to be honest and we didn’t do our best performance today.

Fabian Hürzeler’s side have been praised in the past because of the good football they play. Brighton beat Manchester City 2-1 earlier this season and that remains one of their best results so far. He wants his side to start matches better. He explained:

We will reflect and analyse and hopefully we will start games better. Overall, it was something we didn’t expect but we have to face it. it was a different opponent with a different approach, that is not the easiest way to break through.
