Roma continued to dominate the game, reaching up to 62% possession at one point, but Midtjylland still looked dangerous on the counter.

The first half included several stoppages due to injuries, especially to Manu Koné and Denil Castillo, both of whom eventually had to be substituted.

Roma pushed for a second goal through Pellegrini, Soule, and Dybala, but Midtjylland’s goalkeeper, Elias Olafsson, kept his team alive. The first half ended 1–0 to Roma and then, the second half opened with fresh energy from Midtjylland.

They attacked with intensity and made multiple substitutions to increase their pace. Roma still maintained confidence and in the 83rd minute hit the net with their second goal by Stephan El Shaarawy.

Midtjylland found their breakthrough in the 86th minute when Paulinho scored a left-footed goal, assisted by Aral Şimşir. The final minutes were full of pressure from both sides as Midtjylland fought for another goal. But, after five added minutes, the referee blew the final whistle.

Roma finished the match with 54% possession and secured an important 2–1 victory at home. This win against Midtjylland could be just the boost Roma needs to bounce back from recent setbacks, including their recent 1-0 loss to AC Milan in Serie A.

While Midtjylland will be left disappointed after a brave fightback that wasn’t enough in the end.
