Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has opened up about his future at Anfield, taking a calm stance as speculation grows over his contract situation. The 31-year-old’s deal runs out at the end of the 2025/26 season, and while no formal talks have begun, he insists he feels at peace. Speaking after Liverpool’s 3–0 loss to Manchester City, which SoftFootball reported, Robertson said he remains focused on his football for now.

Robertson, who has been with Liverpool since 2017, explained that he is relaxed about what lies ahead. He said in a post shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X account:

Whatever happens will happen behind closed doors and I’m relaxed about the whole situation. If it is my last year, then it’s my last year. If it’s not, then so be it.

He admitted that discussions could soon take more of his attention once he enters the final six months of his deal, but for now, he wants to enjoy his football.

Reflecting on his journey, Robertson called his bond with Liverpool a wonderful one. Since joining from Hull City for £8 million, he has made 354 appearances, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cups, and the FIFA Club World Cup. He added:

Liverpool have done everything for me and my family.

Despite links to Atlético Madrid last summer and Celtic, his boyhood club, Robertson remains focused on Liverpool, saying:

I’m delighted to be back playing. Let’s see what happens.

After recovering from injury and reclaiming his spot in Arne Slot’s side, Robertson has started four straight games, including a Champions League win over Real Madrid. His return has reignited debate over a possible contract renewal. Earlier this season, Liverpool praised Robertson’s leadership after he helped Scotland beat Belarus, a reminder of his continued influence at both club and national levels.
