New Barcelona signing Rodri has highlighted the club’s ambitious project after completing his move from Manchester City, following an outstanding 2026 World Cup campaign.
The Spanish midfielder led the World Cup in several key statistical categories, recording the most touches, passes attempted, passes completed, final-third passes completed and tackles during the tournament.

Rodri also praised Barcelona’s midfield tradition and the quality of the current squad, expressing his excitement about becoming part of the club’s next chapter.
His arrival follows reports that Barcelona agreed a €76 million package with Manchester City, consisting of €60 million in fixed fees plus €16 million in potential add-ons.
Rodri’s immediate focus will now be on returning to full training and proving his fitness as he begins life at Barcelona.
