Federico Valverde has explained that Real Madrid were patient that was why they over came stubborn Getafe, Softfootball reports.
French superstar, Kylian Mbappe scored the winner as Real Madrid defeated Getafe 1-0. It was his 11 consecutive goal for club and country as the Los Blancos return to top of the table.
Speaking in an interview that was shared on Real Madrid’s official X handle. Federico Valverde said:
We were patient and found the back of the net.
The first half ended goalless despite Real Madrid dominating possession for large parts of the encounter. Mbappe had the most chances as Vinicius Junior watched from the bench.
Rodrygo was referred on the left side of midfield by manager Xabi Alonso and a win was a must as Barcelona had won their game the previous day with a 2-1 victory over Girona.
Real Madrid are top of LaLiga with 24 points after nine matches and will return to action in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday against Juventus at the Bernabeu.
