Real Madrid will conclude their pre-season preparations on Sunday afternoon when they take on Schalke 04 in a friendly ahead of the new campaign.
The fixture will provide Mourinho with one final opportunity to assess his squad before Real Madrid begin their 2026-27 La Liga campaign against Espanyol on August 22.
Schalke enter their final friendly before competitive action, although they will be looking to respond after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Atalanta. The Royal Blues won the 2. Bundesliga last season and secured their return to the German top flight for the first time since 2022-23.
With six new signings arriving this summer including Yan Diomande, Marc Cucurella, Carlos Espi, Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva, Miron Muslic will be hoping his team can gain confidence against one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Kylian Mbappe has returned from World Cup duty and could make his first appearance under Mourinho. New signings Yan Diomande, Marc Cucurella and Ibrahima Konate could also feature, while Jude Bellingham may finally receive his first pre-season minutes.
