Manchester City fans unhappy despite important win over Brentford

3 Min Read

Manchester City laboured to a 1-0 win over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday but the performance of the team especially in the second half left fans wondering.

The Cityzens beat Burnley 5-1 last weekend and drew 2-2 against AS Monaco in the UEFA Champions League, so its not like they are struggling for results but the fans just want more from the Pep Guardiola’s led side.

Softfootball takes a peep into fans reaction after the match yesterday. Soon as Manchester City’s official X handle posted results, fans engaged with heavy personal views about the result and their team.

@ArraourAli was totally unimpressed by the Cityzens second half display. He wrote:

Painful to watch lately — City dominate early then fade in the 2nd half. Defense shaky, new keeper saving us again. Haaland looks isolated… needs a real winger like Mahrez & a playmaker like KDB back to unlock him. ⚽💔

@_TheSuper7_ even referred to Pep Guardiola as Tony Pulis, a Coach famous for defending while at Stoke City.

Scammed a win in the 2nd half play park the boat football. Pep Pulis at it again. Although now you’re only 2 points behind Liverpool so after spending 460m in 2025 I make you joint favourites

Watching Man city these days is literally amusing.  We wait the whole week for their matches and half way through it we’re wishing the match ends while we leading 1-0.

@GodlyRH highlighted how the team failed to create chances for the striker.

Haaland only had 1 shot the entire game, after he scored the team didn’t even try to find him. Foden had 5 shots, only 1 on target.

@Beeglobal99 This particular City fan feared how the team would succeed without the injured Rodri. He said:

Pep built a one-man team. City with Rodri vs without is miles apart.

It’s going to 2 yrs now, and Pep still can’t figure out how to play without Rodri, yet he doesn’t want to spend big on a dynamic #6.

Next, he’s going to play unstable Kova there.  We are in trouble.

There are no premier league matches for the next two weeks as the international break kicks in but fans would hope, Pep Guardiola’s side improves when club football resumes.
