Christian Eriksen has officially been unveiled as a Wolfsburg player after completing a free transfer move from Manchester United. The 33-year-old Danish star put pen to paper over a deal running until 2027 and has been given the number 24 shirt.
The move ends months of speculation about his future after his release by United when his contract expired in June. Softfootball initially reported that the German club was very close to landing the midfielder, and Eriksen has been keeping fit with Malmö FF in Sweden while waiting for the right opportunity. Wolfsburg stepped in, offering him his first chance to play in the Bundesliga.
Sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz calls Eriksen’s arrival a big win for the club. He points to the midfielder’s experience, creativity, and leadership qualities he believes will help guide a relatively young squad.
Wolfsburg revealed Eriksen’s signing with an unveiling video via the club’s official X handle.

Eriksen says he feels ready for a fresh challenge and highlights the presence of several fellow Danish internationals at Wolfsburg as a major factor in his decision. He claimed that the project feels like the right step, noting that the project laid out by the club convinced him to commit.

The Danish playmaker enjoyed three seasons at Old Trafford, making over 100 appearances in red. Despite links with Saudi Arabia and even a brief conversation with Wrexham, Eriksen makes it clear he wants to stay in a top European league.
With five other Danes already on the books at Wolfsburg, the transition should be a smooth one. For the Wolves, this signing signals ambition: mixing young talent with the know-how of a proven veteran.
