Manchester United are stepping up their pursuit of Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni, with the France international emerging as one of Michael Carrick’s top transfer priorities this summer, Softfootball confirms.

The Red Devils are preparing to open formal talks with Real Madrid in the coming days, with club representatives expected to travel to the Spanish capital to explore the conditions of a potential deal.

Reports suggest a package worth £75 million plus a further £5 million in add-ons could be enough to convince Real Madrid to consider selling the 26-year-old, despite Tchouaméni remaining under contract until June 2028.

United are determined to strengthen their midfield ahead of the 2026/27 campaign after securing a return to the UEFA Champions League with a third-place Premier League finish last season.

The move comes after Brazilian midfielder Éderson completed a second medical ahead of his proposed move from Atalanta, with the transfer now expected to be finalised following Brazil’s World Cup exit to Norway in the Round of 16.

If negotiations progress positively, Tchouaméni could become one of Manchester United’s marquee signings of the summer as Carrick continues reshaping his squad for the new season.
