Estevao Willian made news on Thursday by scoring his first goal for Brazil in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chile. The 18-year-old Chelsea star opened the scoring in the first half, becoming the youngest player to score for the Seleção since the legendary Pele.

Estevao has been lifting Chelsea fans from their seats this season. He showed he can do the same from Brazil with a well-taken bicycle kick goal on his sixth international appearance.

The Chelsea starlet delivered a remarkable man-of-the-match performance for Carlo Ancelotti’s team, further establishing himself on the global stage. Two more goals sealed the win, boosting Brazil’s qualification hopes and giving Estevao spotlight as the future of Brazilian football.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, rising star Willian Estevao netted his first goal for the Selecao, becoming the youngest player to score for Brazil since the legendary Pelé.

His milestone is being hailed as the dawn of a new era for Brazilian football, with many viewing him as one of the nation’s brightest prospects for the future. The post reads:

Willian Estêvão scores his first goal for Seleçao! New era for Brazil has started.

The 18-year-old joined Chelsea this summer for a reported €34 million, but bonuses based on how well he plays could make the deal worth up to €57 million. People thought his transfer was part of Chelsea’s long-term plan to rebuild the team, and he made an impact right away.

Before he moved to England, Estevao had already made headlines around the world by scoring against Chelsea in the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup while still playing for Palmeiras. That goal showed that he could play well in big games.

The former Palmeiras star already turned heads with his performances for Chelsea in the Premier League. His cameo in the opening game against Crystal Palace promised much, and he grabbed his first assist at West Ham United in a fantastic display.

Chelsea fans will hope his international breakthrough only fuels his confidence further, with the youngster poised to play a defining role for both club and country. If this trajectory continues, Estevao could become one of football’s generational figures, rewriting history with every dazzling performance he produces.
