AC Milan has finally reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Nigerian striker Victor Boniface. Softfootball earlier reported that AC Milan was closing in on the deal for the striker with a €30M buy option.
After weeks of negotiations between both clubs, the 24 year old has agreed to join the Rossoneri for a one year loan deal with a buy option clause that is not mandatory. The agreement includes a €5M loan fee and a €24M buy option clause, which is not mandatory and would run until the summer of 2026.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle confirmed the news as he tweeted:
“Victor Boniface to AC Milan, here we go! Verbal agreement between all parties for the Nigerian striker.
“€5m loan fee, €24m buy option clause not mandatory and contract until 2030 also done.
“Next step; medical tests ahead of signing all contracts.”
AC Milan have been in the market for a striker this summer with interests in Dusan Vlahovic and Rasmus Højlund. However both players required a permanent deal or loan with a buy clause option, making Victor Boniface a better option.
The striker joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2023 from Union Saint-Gilloise for a deal worth €22.6M. Despite injury setbacks, he still made 27 appearance with Bayer Leverkusen last season. He recorded 11 goals and two assists.
Boniface has been linked with several European clubs but Milan was swift to secure him as part of their plan to help rebuild their squad.
Victor Boniface is expected to undergo his medicals with AC Milan in few days time before he officially signs his contract. The deal offers a chance for Boniface to showcase his talent in Serie A and also in Champions League.
