Chelsea continued their impressive pre-season preparations with a convincing 3-0 victory over AC Milan in Jakarta, Indonesia, as João Pedro scored twice before Moisés Caicedo capped the performance with an outstanding strike, Softfootball reports.
Neither side looked particularly eager to take risks during a quiet opening period, but Chelsea gradually established control and began testing Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani. The Blues eventually broke the deadlock shortly before half-time when João Pedro rose highest inside the box from a corner to head Chelsea into the lead.
The victory follows after chelsea suffered the second defeat of their pre-season tour as Serie A side Juventus ran out 1-0 winners at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong
Milan struggled to respond as Chelsea maintained their dominance. Just five minutes after João Pedro’s second, Moisés Caicedo produced an impressive finish to make it 3-0 and put the result beyond doubt.
The result gives Chelsea another major confidence boost in the penultimate match of pre-season, while AC Milan will have plenty to reflect on after being comfortably outplayed in Jakarta.
