Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku has verbally agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich, Softfootball reports.
The Bavarians have one of the smallest squads in Europe and are looking to bring in more players this season as they look to compete in the UEFA Champions League and defend their Bundesliga title.

Bayern Munich signed Luiz Dias from Liverpool but are hoping to fill the spaces left by the departures of Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman and Thomas Muller this summer.
Football transfer expert, Florian Plettenberg reported via his official X handle, that Nkunku is desperate for the move to Bayern Munich and it’s left for them to agree to a fee with Chelsea that is holding the completion of the deal.
Plettenberg wrote:
“FC Bayern and Christopher #Nkunku have reached a full verbal agreement. Personal terms are 100% agreed, as Christo wants to join Bayern.
“However, Chelsea still want a permanent deal, as previously reported, while Bayern are considering a loan. There is no agreement on the structure of the deal yet after new negotiations over the weekend.
“Further talks between the clubs are expected. Max Eberl pushing hard but it’s very difficult. #CFC.”
Interestingly, Nkunku is represented by the renowned super agent, Pini Zahavi, who brokered Jonathan Tah’s move to Bayern this summer but the only issue with the potential deal for the French forward is that Chelsea are demanding for £50m.
The fee is close to what Chelsea paid to sign Nkumku from RB Leipzig in 2024 but Bayern are aiming to negotiate for a reduced amount as they feel a player not getting regular minutes at Stamford Bridge should not cost that high.
Nkunku scored 14 goals and recorded five assists in 42 competitive matches in all competitions for Chelsea last season and he needs to play regularly in a World Cup year to make the France national team.
