Liverpool’s summer signings, Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong are all set to have their Premier League debuts today Liverpool face Bournemouth in the opening match of the 25/26 Premier League season.
The Reds had spent over $200m to assemble their new squad together as Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander Arnold have all left the club. Diogo Jota who passed away suddenly in a ghastly car accident is also another big loss for the Premier League defending champions.

Slot’s led team won the Premier League title last season ahead of Arsenal who finished second. It was Slot’s first season with the club and he will be looking to defend the title and more trophies to Liverpool’s trophy cabinet in his name. He lost the League Cup to Newcastle in the final.
Now with new arsenal to unleash, the Reds boss has handed his new buys debuts as they face off with Bournemouth in the Anfield. The game serves as the kick of the Premier League and will also see Premier League pay tribute to the late Diogo Jota and his late brother.
Hugo Ekitike who Liverpool hijacked from Newcastle leads the line for the Reds while Florian Wirtz will be anchor in the midfield for Slot. Salah, Alisson, Van Dijk remain the usual men in Red to start.
As posted on the Liverpool official website, here is Liverpool’s line up below.
Alisson, Van Dijk, Konate, Kerkez, Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Salah, Gakpo, Ekitike, Frimpong.
Subs: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Endo, Chiesa, Jones, Elliott, Robertson, Nyoni, Ngumoha.
Slot will be hoping this new team get it going instantly as he will want to ensure they get three points to start the season with. The Reds had lost a few games in preseason with AC Milan defeating them 4-2 and only some days ago, lost the FA Community Shield to Crystal Palace.
The Reds had gone ahead twice but lost both leads and lost on penalties to the Eagles. however they seem to have a good record against Bournemouth last season as they both league ties scoring 5 goals in the process without conceding a goal.
